GERMAN - SPANISH - ENGLISH

About me - Amber Renée Groth

Grew up in Germany, found home in Spain

After successfully completing my studies at the Fachakademie des Sprachen- und Dolmetscher Instituts München (SDI), I swore an oath before the Munich Regional Court for the language combination Spanish–German.

In addition to my studies in Germany, I completed a semester in Granada, Spain, and subsequently decided to move to Spain; these international experiences have notably strengthened my intercultural competence. My passion for languages and cultures led me to study translation. In March 2025 I successfully earned my Bachelor's degree in Translation and complemented this training with a course at the Cambridge Institute, also obtaining the C2 certification. Since September 2025 I have been expanding my knowledge at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, where I am pursuing a Master’s in Audiovisual Translation.

Since early 2025 I have been volunteering as a translator for the children’s rights organization Humanium and for TED Talks, learning to manage workflows, collaborate with diverse teams, and deliver translations that combine accuracy with empathy.

Although I fluently speak English and Spanish, I work according to the native-speaker principle and translate mainly into German. This ensures that translations are faithful to the content while also being of a high standard in terms of style, grammar, and formatting, as well as idiomatic expressions. If a translation into Spanish or English is required, I adapt gladly: in such cases the translation is reviewed by native speakers to ensure the desired level is achieved in the target language.

In addition, I offer tutoring. If interested, you can contact me via the contact form; a placement test will be conducted first to assess language proficiency, after which the lessons will be tailored to individual needs.
